An Arm Party is a relatively new term. Leandra Medine who writes a blog called The Man Repeller coined it. This is a new accessory movement that features the arm completely stacked up with cuffs, watches and oversized bangles. Think of it as stacking your arm with “female armor.”
Achieving this popular new look can be one in a couple of quick steps. Start with a standout timepiece with a large glittery face. The bigger the watch face is the better. Make sure it has diamonds if you want t look girly. You might want to try buying a vintage men’s watch for best results.
One rule of getting this look right is to make sure you color match everything to one theme. For instance if you are wearing a green dress make sure that you re wearing bracelets and watches in hues of green and complimentary colors like brown or gold. Mix and match different types of cuffs, charm bracelets, bands and watches with rings of all kinds in the same hues to create a unique look.
Another good stacking look is to pair different metals together. Get one of each bracelet: pewter, silver, nickel, rhinestone, gold, and titanium. Stack the different metal ornaments up your arm to create an “arm party” with a brilliant polished shine.
To create the ultimate arm party it is a good idea to be creative. Combine beaded bracelets with studded cuffs, antique chain link watches, crocheted bracelets and bracelets made from string or safety pins. Create contrast with more elegant bracelets like a string of rhinestones or a polished silver cuff with a turquoise stone in it. The bigger and bolder you re in the way you mix the pieces together, the more impressive and unusual your arm party will be.
If you are worried about your arm party overwhelming the rest of your look then just choose tow larger “statement pieces. This could be a big cuff with gems in it or a fabric cuff studded with stones. Only use one or two statement pieces and then stack the rest of the jewelry up the arm. Add bangles, leather bracelets and chains that go with the one or two statement pieces.
If your arm is stiff, clanging and jangling. If you hear a bit of a jingle or a bam every time your arm hits a table or arm rest than you have done this look right.
